To support the delivery of specialist land based education and training, Land Based Learning Ltd are developing a range of interactive learning materials from both former Land Based Colleges National Collaboration (LBCNC) and in the future new source materials.

Priorities for sector and materials development is guided by the Landex Learning Materials and Technology Committee, chaired by a member of the Landex Board, to ensure that these match the interests and needs of specialist land based providers.

The work will support subscribing colleges by providing high quality teaching and learning materials designed to improve the learning experience, enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of providers and continue to meet the ever-changing needs of employers and the community.

This will help members to adopt many of the proposals put forward by the Further Education Learning Technology Action Group (FELTAG) and the www.gov.uk/government/publications/further-education-learning-technology-action-group-feltag-recommendations-government-response

The initial sector priorities which were set by the Landex Learning Materials and Technology Committee are as detailed in the following sections:

  • Animal Science
  • Plant and Soil Science

Horticulture

There are two course areas covering the subject areas of:

  • Plant Science
  • Soil Science

Understanding how plants grow and respond to different growing conditions is particularly important in this extremely competitive sector.

The topic areas contained in each course area provides the content necessary to building an understanding of how plants grow.
